# Custom PHP Web Development & E-Commerce

Lean, hand-built websites and web applications. PHP + MariaDB on Linux, no bloated frameworks, no $5K/month hosting bills, no off-the-shelf themes that look like everyone else.

Tuxxin has been building websites since 2010. We use PHP and our in-house TiCore framework for everything from $1K marketing sites to $50K custom e-commerce platforms. Where WordPress is the right tool we will use it; where it is not, we will tell you and propose a faster, more maintainable alternative. Every site we build is hosted on infrastructure we operate, runs on the open web (no proprietary CMS lock-in), and ships with documented code that any other PHP developer can pick up.

## Web Development Services

### E-commerce stores

Custom storefronts with Stripe/PayPal checkout, inventory, order management, shipping rate APIs (USPS, UPS, FedEx). Real-time deals feeds and product import pipelines welcome.

### Marketing & content sites

Fast static-feeling sites with a real CMS for non-developers. Bootstrap-slim CSS, no jQuery, sub-second page loads on commodity hosting.

### REST APIs & integrations

JSON APIs that power mobile apps, third-party integrations, or internal tooling. JWT auth, rate limiting, OpenAPI documentation.

### TiCore applications

When you need a real web app (multi-user, role-based, with auth and admin) we use our PHP framework — same engine that powers webshot.site, qr-track.tuxxin.com, and the iNetPanel control panel.

### Migrations & rebuilds

Old WordPress site dragging the business down? We will move it to a faster stack, preserve URLs (no SEO loss), and modernize the admin tooling so editors actually use it.

### Maintenance retainers

Monthly retainers cover security patches, content tweaks, plugin updates, performance audits, and backup verification — for a fraction of a full-time hire.

## Our Web Stack

### Backend

PHP 8.4/8.5, MariaDB or SQLite, Redis where caching matters. Composer-managed dependencies, PSR-12 code style, real test coverage.

### TiCore framework

In-house, open source. Routing, auth, CSRF, rate-limiting, structured logging, page caching, sitemap generation — without 200 MB of node_modules.

### Frontend

Bootstrap-slim (12 KB Bootstrap subset), Alpine.js for interactivity, no React/Vue unless the project actually needs an SPA.

### CDN & edge

Cloudflare for caching and DDoS protection, IndexNow for instant search-engine updates, Workers for edge logic when needed.

### Hosting

Tuxxin-managed Linux infrastructure (see Linux Infrastructure service). You get a real server, not a $40/mo shared host limited to 5 visitors.

### Payments

Stripe for cards/subscriptions, PayPal Checkout, Authorize.net where required. We do not store PAN data — PCI scope stays minimal.

## Our Delivery Process

### Scope

A 60-minute call to map screens, data model, and integrations. Output: a fixed-price quote with a sketch of every page and API endpoint.

### Design

Live HTML mockups (no Figma round-trips). You click through real pages on a real domain and we iterate based on what you see.

### Build

Two-week sprints with a working build at the end of each. Code lives in a git repo you have access to from day one.

### Launch

Pre-launch checklist (SEO, schema, sitemap, IndexNow, monitoring, backups). Soft-launch on a staging domain, then DNS cut-over.

## Custom Web Development Is Right For You If

Tuxxin works best with the following kinds of teams and projects.

- ✓You have an idea that does not fit a no-code platform (Webflow, Shopify, Squarespace).
- ✓You are tired of fighting WordPress plugins, theme builders, or page-builder bloat.
- ✓You need a real e-commerce checkout with logic that off-the-shelf platforms cannot do.
- ✓You want code your business owns, can fork, and could hand to any other PHP developer.
- ✓You want a developer who answers their own emails, not a five-layer agency.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Do you build WordPress sites?

When the project actually fits WordPress (a content/blog site, simple WooCommerce store, or an existing client team that knows WP), yes. When the project would need 15 plugins to half-work, we propose a custom build instead — and we will give you the honest cost-benefit comparison up front.

### How long does a typical site take?

A marketing site: 2-4 weeks. A custom e-commerce store: 6-12 weeks. A complex web application: 3-6 months. We give a written timeline with the proposal and update it weekly.

### Will the site be fast?

Yes. We benchmark every project against Core Web Vitals before launch — Largest Contentful Paint under 2.5s, Cumulative Layout Shift under 0.1, Interaction to Next Paint under 200ms. Most Tuxxin sites hit 95+ Lighthouse scores out of the box.

### Do you handle hosting after launch?

Optional. We can host on Tuxxin-managed Linux infrastructure (most clients choose this), or hand off to your own hosting with documented deployment instructions. We do not lock you in.
